Travel plans for 2013

Jan, going for a short trip in malaysia

Making plans to go learn my advanced diving in april once the monsoon season is over, i totally cant wait!

End of April probably going Hong Kong, a place where i always always wanted to go.

August will be my very impromptu japan trip!

Will plan for another diving trip at sipadan once i get my advanced.

Will need to reduced my overseas trips in 2013 and be more budget due to the damage from the USA trip.

Although it does not seem reduced but it is! I think.. More of shorter and cheaper overseas trip than 2012.

Trying to recall where i went for this year, hmm.. Laos, Tioman, Taiwan, USA.. Thats all? So my 2013 travelling is not exactly reduced..

Good or bad?

Went back to work after almost 1 month..

Heard of various job movements of others and potential job movement of myself in future..

Have never thought that the upper management will wanna put me there, as it is an area that i am not familiar with and there are others who are more familiar with it.

Kind of nervous on what will be coming up for me.

Totally out of my comfort zone but it is definitely a good movement in terms of career progression. I can expect much much much more heavy workload though.

And i will be the only female in the position in my terminal. But still early to say anything yet, wait till things are more confirm first ba..

If i am expected to inform 3 months in advance for my long leave, then i expect to be able to be given a confirmation 3 months in advance!

Open water diving licence

Finally got my licence after so looong.

When to tioman for the dive with Tioman Reef divers.

They are fantastic.

We had 1 instructor for us Javern, ZW and me and the instructor is really good.

We saw a lot a lot of things..

But i didnt get to see the pufferfish and bamboo shark Andrea saw while doing her advanced.

Will be going back in March for my advanced, hopefully can see them.

Almost thought i wont be able to learn my diving as i got ear infection just before the trip and the doctor advised me not to dive.

But i went ahead anyway..

Our group got closely after the trip, i love bravo group..

A series of things

A bad day ended up well eventually.

Growing up..

Growing up or maybe growing old..

You know you are getting older when you start attending weddings..

Not only weddings, but funerals as well..

Funerals not of our friend's grandparents but parents..

Sha's dad just passed away. I can still recall him so many years back when we were still teenagers, the scary dad figure. And suddenly we hear news of him passing away due to liver problems..

Xw's dad is undergoing a major surgery as well and in unstable state..

After a while it will dawn onto you that, our own parents are of the same age as well..

And its scary..

After 1.5 years..

After 1.5 years of slogging out, my hard work finally paid off.

Got promoted to Assistant Manager. But will probably still be doing shift for quite awhile which i totally don't mind.

Doing a slightly different job scope now and learning more things.

Bought the air ticket to USA in November, it is finally coming true.

Probably going to tioman for diving with my colleagues in Sept, finally doing it as well.

That's all of the good news i have..

The rest are bad news..

My grandma condition is getting worst.

Have been visiting her in the hospital, she cant even lie now and not feel breathless..

Got my birthday leave for end of the month but do not dare to go anywhere in case something happen to her which the doctor say may be anytime soon..

Quarreled with my mum yesterday. It is ridiculous, don't see her doing the same thing to my older brother, just because i don't say anything doesn't mean you can step all over me. Ridiculously biased.

I am making full use of my investment and i am still loving it..

Received it around mid feb and it hardly left my side..

Went to Laos with me and back.

In about 2 months i have read 25 books on it..

Laos

Have been back from Laos for about 2 weeks..

Had a great but tiring time..

Going there make me realise how super unfit i am now, i want to train up my fitness. We went for a jungle trek and was stuck in the jungle for 12hrs, an unforgetable experience. Not forgetting the tubing in Vang Vieng. If there is a chance, maybe can go back there during a different season.

Been interested in yoga lately. Went for a trial at allaboutyoga using a coupon jielin and i bought from groupon. A total of 6 sessions and we went for 2 already, first one was a bolloywood dance class which is OMG. Second one is a ashtanga yoga class which is much much better. Will want to try kickboxing, yoga-pilates, zumba etc.

Received a bad news once I'm back in Singapore. My grandma is confirm to have 4th stage of cancer and seeing her lose so much weight is scary.

Life is unpredictable..

Almost 2 weeks..

It have been almost 2 weeks since darling passed away..

Right now her ashes is sitting on top of my TV in the living room..

Keep having flashbacks of when she just came my house 10 years ago..

And of course, all the silly things she do..

When she just came she is such a tiny puppy, with her fur not fully grown and looks pinkish..

Was busy running around my house exploring her new home..

Still remember 1 night bro brought her back after bringing her out for a walk and she was all brown and muddy due to falling into the canal..

I miss having her trying to go underneath my blanket and snuggle next to me..

I miss having someone welcome me home after a tough day at work..

10 years fly passed just like that..

And the ending of all these thoughts of her is always the moment she passed away..

The image cant be erased from my mind, the coldness from her skin when i last carried her breaks my heart..

Even my mum misses her..

May you rest in peace and find a better family in your next life..

Kindle touch

Just bought a Kindle on Amazon.com.

Waiting for it to be shipping to my house not, was contemplating if i should click "confirm" after filling everything out.

Miss reading, used to read a lot when i was in shanghai. Spend most of the 2h traveling time to and fro work reading. But back in SG, once i start driving my reading time reduced a lot.

Lately, i been wanting to read. Searched for apps to download books into my phone.

But the glare from my phone makes it tiring to read.

Hence, i considered getting this. I considered it ytd and researched about it whole of ytd and tonight and finally clicked "confirm".

Got it because with it i can read unlimited free books (though i need to learn how to download them). With it i can enjoy reading without the glare. It have long battery life, up to 2 months which means i can simply bring it along when i travel without having to bring 3-4 books each time.

Cost about $130 after all the shipping. Hopefully it is worth it and i can download all the books i want.

Cant wait for it to arrive..

Dragon year

Dragon year does not seem to have a good start for me..

Work wise there will be some changes to the group of people i working with, will miss them as we have worked together so well for the past few months. Hopefully, the others that come to my group are equally nice to work with.

A colleague who i am quite close with got into a bike accident and he was in ICU for quite a few days. It is quite scary to see him like that, worst still, he is supposed to be married in early feb. Not sure if the wedding will still go on. Hope he will fully recover.

Family wise, my brother told me he will be changing jobs and wish to take back the car and i have to be car-less again. Tried looking at sgcarmart to see the market now but it is quite ex. Not worth buying now, hopefully with the poor economic forecast for the coming year the prices will drop.

On top of that my mum when to the doctor regarding her eye. She is more or less blind in 1 eye already. The treatment which will not cure the problem, it will only try to not make it worst cost more than 1K per month and not confirm how many months will be needed.

Can things can any worst? I hope it can't..
